Lizards, Snakes, and Smooth Arrivals

Wednesday, April 7 kicked off the 2010 research trip with a bang.  The research leads arrived in New Orleans and had some time to relax with family before the research festivities begin.

Quite a spirited conversation ensued about the animal kingdom including the difference between venomous and poisonous animals, the Food and Drug Administration as well as how politicians answer direct questions during press conferences.  Bear in mind, the adults barely paid a role in these discussions.  Definitely smashes the stereotype that kids in today's time can't carry on a decent and intelligent conversation.

Interesting fact learned today:  While in jail, if inmates did not have access to toothbrushes, they would use toilet paper and toothpaste instead.

Tomorrow the leads will be onto enjoy the culture that is New Orleans before heading out to begin research this weekend.
