We Meet Again | 2011 Reunion Hospitality Night

2011 Reunion - Registration Table
July 27 signaled the beginning of the 19th Atlas Family Reunion which is being held in Baton Rouge, LA.  This is the first time that the reunion has been held in Baton Rouge and it's been 8 years since it's been held in Louisiana.

After checking in and receiving their bags, family members gathered for the time honored "get acquainted/hospitality night."  The reunion spirit was definitely in the air as laughs and the sounds of enthusiasm rang throughout the hotel lobby. There were approximately 50 people in attendance at this first of several reunion events.

Family members grubbed on red beans and rice and enjoyed homemade mini pecan and sweet potato pies and Amish bread made by one of the reunion hosts.

Additionally, family members shared awesome feedback with the research team about the newest volume of family history, which is the first to include photos of family members next to their genealogical entry. One family member remarked that it was like a yearbook for our family.

Tomorrow features a tour of Baton Rouge as it's main activity.  Sites include the campuses for Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, the capital for the state of Louisiana, and Southern University, which is the alma mater of a large number of family members.
