Sheriff's Sales - Children of Robert Hewlett

A search of the Library of Congress' Chronicling America Newspaper Database showed the following sheriff's sale of land belonging to Henry Hewlett and Rosalie (Hewlett) Ogden, who were children of Robert Hewlett and siblings of Sarah (Hewlett) Atlas:

Bayou Sara, LA - True Democrat, January 18, 1913

State of Louisiana, Parish of West Feliciana, 24th Jud. Dist. Court – Oran D. Brooks vs. Henry Hewlett and Rosalie Ogden.  By virtue of a Writ of Seizure and sale to the Sheriff directed by the Honorable Court aforesaid, in the above entitled suit, I have seized and will offer for sale to the highest bidder at the front door of the Court House in the town of St. Francisville, LA at the hour of 11 o’clock a.m. on Saturday, January 18, 1913, the following property to wit: “The undivided ½ interest of Henry Hewlett in and to Lot No. 4 in Square No. 11 and the undivided ¼ interest each of Henry Hewlett and Rosalie Ogden in and to Lots Nos. 6, 7, and 8 and the north ½ of Lots Nos. 9 and 3 in Square No. 11, with all buildings and improvements there on.” Terms of sale – Cash with benefit of appraisement.  JH Clack, Sheriff.

Constable’s Sale, State of Louisiana, Parish of West Feliciana, Frist. Dist. Court – Oran Dr. O.D. Brooks vs. Henry Hewlett.  In obedience to a Write of Fieri Facias to me directed by the Honorable the First Justice Court in and for the Parish and State aforesaid, and in the above styled suit, I have seized and will offer for sale to the highest bidder at the front door of the Court House in the town of St. Francisville, Louisiana at the hour of 11 o’clock a.m. on Saturday, June 21, 1913, the following property to wit: “The undivided 1/8 interest of Henry Hewlett in and to Lot No. 4 in Square No. 11 in the town of St. Francisville, Louisiana” Terms of sale – Cash with benefit of appraisement.  W.H. Mentions of a sale continued all the way through until June 1913.  It's unclear as to whether or not the land was actually sold or if it was land that was inherited from Robert Hewlett.
