Isaac Fisher, Editor of Negro Farmer, 1914

Recently found is a profile on Isaac Fisher, who was born in 1877 in East Carroll Parish, LA that was featured in the December 1914 issue of The Crisis.  He is noted as the 16th child of former slave parents who eventually was orphaned and moved to Vicksburg, Warren County, MS.  At the time of the profile, he is noted to have had a wife and a daughter of 12 years (born about 1902).  He was also noted to have won $1,500 for various essays he had written.
