2009 Atlas Family Reunion

There are now three weeks until the upcoming Atlas Family Reunion to be held August 6-9, 2009 in Chicago, IL. This is the first time the reunion will be held in Chicago, although it is not the first time it will be held in the Midwest.

The calendar of events is as follows:

Thursday, August 6 – Arrival
1:00 pm – 10:00 pm Hospitality Night – Meet & Greet
Lake Shore Ramada, 4800 S Lake Shore Drive, Chicago, IL
Officially register for the reunion as pick up your family reunion bag with your event
tickets and other purchased items.

Friday, August 7
9:00 am – 2:00 pm - Tour & Atlas Fest
Southeast (Atlas) Region Senior Center
Join us for a tour of the Southeast (Atlas) Region Senior Center. This is a significant event for our family. This center was named after an Atlas family member, Francis Joseph Atlas, Jr. He was a significant contributor to the welfare of senior citizens of Chicago. The first Friday of every August, they celebrate Francis Joseph Atlas, Jr., with the Atlas Fest. Fortunately, this year’s reunion is taking place at the same time allowing us to participate in a city event that honors one of our own.

Saturday, August 8
12:00 pm – 6:00 pm Family Picnic
Harold Washington Playlot Park
Join us for our picnic in the park. We’ll be in the park enjoying food and fun. For those of you who are adventurous, the park is right next to a Chicago bus route that will take you right to Downtown Chicago. Feel free to hop on the bus to downtown and come back later for eats.

Sunday, August 9 - DEPARTURE
10:00 am – 1:00 pm Church Service
St. Thomas Episcopal Church
