We recently came upon the revised website for the Center for American History at the University of Texas, Austin.
Feautured on the new website is a digial media repository that features scans of actual documents in the center's possesion, which are original. The estate papers of William L. Balfour are a part of the center's collection. Some of the documents have been made available for copying. Some of them are below:
January 1, 1859 - Invoice from Moody & Kuner for musical instruments:
May 22, 1861 - Shipment of 167 bales of cotton
The price is a steep $20 per digital copy and $25 per paper copy for an individual researcher. Regardless, valuable information is being made available due to advancements in technology.
